Join CAMRT-ATL and Write Your Provincial Representative

Join CAMRT-ATL in advocating for MRTs: send a letter to your provincially elected Member of the Legislative Assembly asking for increased investment in staff retention and recruitment.

We know there are a lot of pressures affecting MRTs in Atlantic Canada. One way to have your voice heard is sending a letter to your provincial government representative. Click on the link below and use your voice to tell them about your concerns and desire for them to increase their investment and recognize the MRT profession.

Once you click on the letter link, please enter your name, address, and email in the provided fields. With that information, the tool will automatically find your MLA, their address and populate the letter for you. The letter CAMRT-ATL has written can be sent to your MLA as it is. However, you may also wish to adapt with your own comments or personal experiences.

Our facility(Fogo Island Healthcenter) is currently operating with 2 technologists, covering both medical Imaging and Lab. This being the case we on call every second week, and this poses a problem with a work /life balance. I am feeling signs of burnout , and wish we could get another combined person to help carry the burden of call and create a better work/life balance for our Technologists

    Hello,

Can we also mention about the inadequate standby/on-call pay and hours?! Standby/on-call has become an issue for all rural sites throughout Canada. The days of being called back once or twice throughout a 16 hr shift are long gone. Our 8-hr shifts are now an extended 16 hrs. I plan on sending CAMRT-ATL a letter about this as I had mentioned during the “Townhall” that going to our union and management is not working! Thank you, Emily Hamilton
