Within the realm of medical radiation technology, distinct disciplines thrive, each represented by nationally recognized certification. Those who successfully attain these certifications earn the right to append specialized professional designations to their names:

Registered Technologist, Radiological Technology (RTR)
Registered Technologist, Magnetic Resonance (RTMR)
Registered Technologist, Nuclear Medicine (RTNM)
Registered Radiation Therapist (RTT)

However, MRTs in Alberta who are registered as a regulated member with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists have the legislated ability to use protected titles.
