Call for Abstracts and Presentations – CAMRT 2024

Call for Propsoals

Apply to be a presenter at CAMRT 2024!

CAMRT 2024 will take place at the Delta Saint John in Saint John, New Brunswick on May 24-25, 2024, with a virtual component. Find up to date event information here

We are looking for education and scientific session proposals to build a diverse conference program. Submissions can feature topics and research related to any modality or be of general interest (patient management, department management, innovative education, leadership, self-care, mental health, career growth etc.). To submit a session or abstract for consideration please, complete the form at the link below.

There are three types of conference sessions available: Education Session, Scientific Session, Poster Presentation. Please read the descriptions before submitting, as each format is different. Submissions will be accepted in both French and English

Education Session

These sessions are designed to provide education and practice insights for medical radiation technology practice. Education sessions cover a focused topic and have pre-defined learning objectives. Education session presenters have expertise and lived experiences in the subject they are presenting on.

Examples include, but are not limited to:

  • Case study sessions
  • Practice insights and experiences (new and novel technology, protocols, practices, quality improvement etc)
  • Foundational theory review
  • MRT frontline stories
  • Workshops

Presentation length options:

25 minutes (20 min presentation with 5 minutes of Q&A)

50 minutes (40 min presentation with 10 minutes of Q&A)

All presenters will be required to pre-record their presentation ahead of the event (with the assistance of CAMRT) for use for the virtual audience, in addition to presenting live and in-person at the conference

Scientific Session

These sessions provide an opportunity for MRTs and/or other healthcare professionals to showcase their original research and share their findings. A scientific abstract provides an overview of the background/purpose, methods, results and conclusions to be presented orally at the conference. Session learning objectives are also submitted to provide an overview of content to be covered in the proposed session

Presentation length options:

25 minutes (20 min presentation with 5 minutes of Q&A)

50 minutes (40 min presentation with 10 minutes of Q&A)

All presenters will be required to pre-record their presentation ahead of the event (with the assistance of CAMRT) for use for the virtual audience, in addition to presenting live and in-person at the conference

 Deadline to Apply: November 24, 2023*
If the researcher does not have all data by the October 31st deadline, they are invited to submit a preliminary proposal/abstract, with final findings due by January 15th, 2024.

Poster Presentation

An opportunity for MRTs and/or other healthcare professionals to showcase their original research and share their findings in hard copy and digital poster format.

Poster authors are responsible for the printing, shipping and set up of their posters. Digital posters are to be submitted in pdf.  Detailed specifications to be provided to selected authors.

Selected presenters will be eligible for a modest honorarium or discounted conference registration, eligibility depends on the session type, length and format. Expenses for travel and accommodation are the responsibility of the speaker.  For more information download the speaker cheat sheet.
