February is Black History Month

CAMRT is proud to recognize February as Black History Month, a time to reflect on and celebrate the invaluable contributions of Black Canadians throughout history. This year’s theme, Black Legacy and Leadership: Celebrating Canadian History and Uplifting Future Generations, celebrates the diversity, leadership and legacy of Black Canadians while also highlighting the role these trailblazers play every day, inspiring young people.

From pioneering healthcare professionals to everyday heroes, Black individuals have made a lasting impact on the healthcare landscape in Canada. Their dedication to improving lives, advocating for equity, and breaking down barriers has shaped the quality and accessibility of care across the nation. As we commemorate this important month, let’s take time to learn about and acknowledge the legacies of Black leaders, past and present, who continue to inspire progress in healthcare.
