Patricia Noel – Obituary

NOEL, Patricia Mary (nee Rogers)

It is with great sadness that we announce that Patricia Mary Noel (nee Rogers) peacefully passed away on August 24, 2017.

Pat was born on May 13, 1922 in Vancouver, where she lived most of her early life, before moving to Burnaby in 1987. Pat studied radiology at Vancouver General Hospital, and later went on to instruct at British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) from its opening year in 1964 to her retirement in 1985. It was during her time at BCIT that Pat met and eventually married her husband of 20 years, Bill Noel (deceased, 2007).

Pat and Bill spent summers cruising the Gulf Islands aboard the Lady Jay where they met many dear lifelong friends. Pat was very close to an extensive family. She lived with her sister Gwen and mother Mary for many years and greatly enjoyed the company of an extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Pat also loved to garden and could often be found tending her irises or dahlias at her Burnaby house or just socializing with a great number of neighbors. Pat was known and loved for her fun-loving nature, quick wit and infectious laugh. She was always up for an adventure and added life, levity and spontaneity to every gathering. Her family and friends will long remember her for a warm and generous heart. Pat touched the lives of many in her 95 years.

A celebration of Pat’s extraordinary life will be held on Saturday October 14, 2017 at 11 a.m. in the Joyce Walley Room at the Museum of Vancouver located at 1100 Chestnut Drive, Vancouver. Pay parking is available.
