New Canadian CT Survey Results Available

CT diag refThe report on the results of the Canadian Computed Tomography (CT) Survey, including the national Diagnostic Reference Levels for CT imaging examinations, is now published on the Government of Canada’s website.

The National CT Survey provides a current snap-shot of CT equipment technology and CT imaging practices in Canada. The national DRLs will help promote optimization of CT clinical protocols in Canada and ultimately contribute to national and international efforts to minimize medical exposures to ionizing radiation from CT. A secondary analysis of the survey results has begun, and Health Canada welcomes any suggestions going forward.

The successful collection of such a large volume of data is due to the highly collaborative nature in which the survey was conducted, and the concerted efforts of provincial, territorial and professional collaborators, including many CAMRT members.
