Registration into any of the Specialty Certificate Programs is mandatory before starting the Clinical Component.
Certificate in Breast Imaging Program
The practice of Mammography has become a specialized field of diagnostic imaging. The precision required for positioning, knowledge and operation of imaging equipment, identification of pathology, image assessment, quality control and communication and interaction with the patient greatly exceeds the entry-to-practice requirements of a graduate medical radiation technologist. Imaging modalities for breast imaging have significantly changed over the years and the practice of mammography has a major impact on breast health.
CT Imaging Certificate Program
Computed Tomography is a common imaging modality in the field of medical imaging. With the onset of fusion imaging, CT is now crossing all disciplines. The CAMRT is pleased to offer a CT Imaging Specialty Certificate in the disciplines of Radiological Technology, Radiation Therapy and Nuclear Medicine. All technologists and therapists practicing in dedicated CT, CT SIM, PET/CT or SPECT/CT will find this program informative, educational and practical. It will enhance your knowledge and skill, enabling you to provide ‘best practice’ care in the delivery of diagnostic and therapeutic healthcare services.
Dosimetry Specialty Certificate Program
Radiation therapy is rapidly evolving to keep pace with changes in technology. For some years, treatment planning has been recognized as a specialty area within radiation therapy. No credential has been available in Canada and In recognition of this, the CAMRT is now offering a Dosimetry Specialty Certificate program. With didactic courses, demonstrated competencies, research skills and required continued education component, the candidate will attain the skills, knowledge and judgment necessary to become a valued member for the health care professional team.

Interventional Radiology Specialty Program coming soon!
CAMRT is in the process of developing a Specialty Certificate Program in Interventional Radiology. By filling a large void in educational opportunities for Interventional Technologists, the program will cover topics ranging from radiation safety, patient management, imaging equipment in various modalities to the many procedures currently being done in facilities across the country. The Specialty Certificate will include a didactic component of at least 2 full length courses, a clinical component with a required Summary of Clinical Experience as well as research and continuing education components. CAMRT is committed to producing a quality program that will be challenging and relevant to current practice in Interventional Radiology.
