| Membership Categories
CAMRT membership is obtained by applying to the Provincial Association in the province in which you are working. If you are working in Quebec, the northern territories or outside of Canada, MRT's can apply directly to the CAMRT.
Should the period between certification and initial application for membership be five (5) years of more, or if your membership has lapsed five (5) years or more, you will be required to provide proof of competency. Also, an administrative fee of $50 will be applied in addition to your membership dues. For more information regarding providing proof of competency, please contact your provincial association, or the CAMRT directly if you are practicing in Quebec, Nunavut, Northwest Territories, Yukon or outside of Canada at 1-800-463-9729 ext. 223 or contact Manager, Member Relations.
Full Practice
Full Practice membership is available to MRT's who have been certified by the Association through examination, or who are licensed or certified by provincial regulatory bodies and recognized as such by CAMRT or who are certified by other professional associations which have reciprocal arrangements with the CAMRT. Professional liability and legal defence coverage is included with a full practice membership.
Limited
Practice
Limited Practice membership is available to MRT's who are either licensed or certified by a provincial regulatory authority for limited practice or by a provincial educational authority through a Provincial Association approved program. This category is not available in all provinces.
Non-Practicing
This category of membership is available to MRT's who are unemployed or no longer involved in the profession of medical radiation technology but wish to maintain their relationship with CAMRT. This category is not available in all provinces.
Student
This classification is available to individuals enrolled in a Canadian Medical Association (CMA) accredited medical radiation technology program. Students are automatically made members of the CAMRT as soon as their membership is approved by the provincial association and there is no charge for this membership.
CAMRT has some membership categories that are not available with the Provincial Member Associations. To obtain membership in one of these categories an application form must be forwarded directly to CAMRT. For information about any of the following categories, please contact Manager, Member Relations.
International
Non-Practicing
This classification is available to MRT's who do not practice in Canada but who wish access to the association's professional development courses and publications. CAMRT Specialty Certificate Programs are not available to international non-practicing members. This membership is not transferable and if an international non-practicing member relocates to Canada they will be required to write and successfully pass our certification examinations.
Senior
This classification is available to MRT's who have been a CAMRT member for 30 years or more who are no longer working as a technologist or in any other healthcare related position.
Manager
The CAMRT manager category is available to any individual with responsibilities related to management or leadership of a medical radiation department or area. MRT's must be a member of their Provincial Association in order to access this category. Non-MRT's apply directly to the CAMRT.
Please complete the CAMRT manager category form and submit this form along with payment to CAMRT. MANAGER'S APPLICATION FORM
