Bridging Programs

A bridging program provides internationally educated medical radiation technologists (IEMRTs) the knowledge, skills and judgment specific to the practice of Medical Radiation Technology in the context of the Canadian health care system to

  • prepare to write the national certification exam
  • meet the requirements for provincial registration and national certification
  • successfully transition to the workforce

A bridging program will assess and evaluate the unique needs of IEMRTs, recognize prior knowledge and experience, and support IEMRTs from initial interest to employment thus preparing the IEMRT for safe and effective practice in a Canadian health care environment.
